Name: Rapidstep
Age: 20 Moons
Gender: She-cat
Clan: TimberClan
Rank: Warrior, respectwise Senior Warrior
Appearance: Rapidstep was known from a small age as the perfect warrior. She was born small and stayed small, no unusually big paws or ears. She was just as compact as a stereotypical TimberClanner was suposed to be. Though most would think it might pose a problem for her not to have long, spindly legs she soon proved them wrong with her pure speed and the power in her back legs to propel her forward. Even as a kit when they played the Voyage of the Winding Forest, she no matter what would come out on top. She was everything, and more, that TimberClan could want in a kit and they made sure to tell her that. She was born in the perfect Clan for her set of attributes, it kind of poses the question on whether or not any other Clan would find her a gift from StarClan. It seems as this TimberClanner was born lucky.
Rapidstep is a simple tabby and white she-cat. Nothing truly special about it, but combined with her dainty looking appearance she pulls it off to make her look beautiful. Her back is covered in dark brown, the darkest on her entire body bangled by even darker black stripes that go down her entire body, ending at the black tip of her tail. It's around the leg area that truly set her off. The dark brown covering the rest of her body has now lightened into what I would call bronzed gold, brought out even more by the same rich black stripes that cut through it. This same bronzed gold blazes up to her face, setting off her even more gorgeous eyes, she is any toms' dream. She has a tuxedo pattern cutting through this bronzed gold area, that only covers her chest, the only other place that is white are her mittens and most of her back legs.
Last, we must speak of Rapidstep's eyes. They are orbs of rich gold, only slightly lighter of a shade than the bronzed gold we spoke of earlier. This gold gives her eyes depth like no other and truly reflect her personality with the sparkle that shines there. Her eyes unlike most other tabby's is only one solid color. She has no frilly lines tracing a pattern around her pupil, no her eyes are just gold and the pupils black. Simple, but effective, in fact they could be considered over effective.
Personality: Rapidstep is the life of the party, everyone wants to talk with her and she enjoys most cats company. The only cats she has never been fond of are braggarts that think they are everything and obnoxious toms that don't care about the fact she's a living creature. She's always made to believe she has every right to brag though, the constant praise and awe she recieves from everyone can be pretty annoying. She though would never let such things go to her head, she thanks cats for their kind words, because that is what she is kind and selfless not self-centered or absorbed. She's always serving the cause of her Clan, bringing home more prey than the established best hunter. She fights like she's ten feet tall in every battle, no matter the odds or the risk. Fiercely loyal no doubt? To what she believes, at the moment she has every bit of confidence in TimberClan and nothing has yet to shake that. Yes, Rapidstep is everything her Clan could ask for and more. This keeps her happy knowing that her efforts are appreciated. She tries to do as much as she possibly can for the Clan, whether it be hunting or fighting, so she is often chosen to lead such patrols and doesn't spend much time in camp at all. Yet her heart yearns for something else, in all of this glory, she still has those moments where she feels as though she is missing out on something that is close enough to touch.
Beneath Rapidstep's glory, fame, and perfection there are flaws. She is often too curious for her own good, but nothing has come of that yet. She worries about every cat she meets, she doesn't want to upset anyone or make others mad. Approval isn't the top thing on her list, she'd rather stay true to herself than be perfect in the eyes of others. She is also very modest, as listed before she hates bragging though she will accept others praise, just so they don't feel bad. If anyone were to ever feel down, Rapidstep would jump through hoops to make them feel better or give her a smile. Oversensitive to the needs of others and sympathetic, she often doesn't really take time to look at herself and if she really is happy where she stands. Every once and a while she'll push off an offer to lead a patrol, wondering what she is really doing all this for.
She is forever a thinker, her mind working like clockwork. She just tries not to delve too far into herself, that would set everything off balance. Things are the way they are, can they ever really change? Have you ever felt wrong when everything seemed to fit so perfectly, like you were missing a small part of yourself that no one else seemed to care about? Rapidstep has and more and more every single day she is starting to wonder what her purpose truly is. If she is making the right cats happy.
Past: Rapidkit was just as perfect then as she is now, in everyone elses eyes. Other queens were constantly praising her mother, and herself, for the little bundle of perfection she was. Every mother in the Nursery hoped that some of Rapidkit's skills would rub off on their kits if she played with them. Rapidkit was fine with that, she was an only kit and rather enjoyed the other kits' company from even these early kithood days. After a while Rapidkit was everyone's friend and she liked the feeling, it just sort of fit her all nice and snug. It made her feel needed and important, something she oddly felt as though she had been missing till this became a fact. Rapidkit tried to include everyone in her games and wouldn't have any of that silly feeling of being better than someone. She knew, even then, that everyone had something to offer and make the Clan better. No one was worthless, useless, or unwanted in her eyes. She'd be considered a weakling in ScarClan for this, but luckily she was born in the Clan of great tolerance. The Clan couldn't wait for her to become an apprentice, the kit of the entire Clan was often what she was called. Finally that day came, six moons since she had been born.
Rapidpaw was given the leader as her mentor. The leader felt it was his place to further groom this kit to live up to the full potential everyone saw in this one small kit. Every day at training Rapidpaw tried her hardest, it was always better than what everyone hoped. She trained and she trained, harder and harder until she was to do her trial. Nothing to exciting happened during her apprenticeship, no battles for this precious gem. She was too much of a treasure to even think of letting join in a battle. Yet her battle training was above average for a cat her size, so she was finally let to join her first battle. Everyone watched in awe as the little fireball took down an apprentice of twelve moons from PeakClan, she was less than half his size. Amazed they never doubted the little she-cat again and it only took four moons for her to do the trial. She was taken to every Gathering through this time, perhaps to show off their star pupil.
The Overseer at the time's name was Doveflight, a long legged she-cat whose speed was almost as quick as her mind. The Clan knew they had nothing to fear when it came to Rapidpaw becoming a warrior through the Voyage of the Winding Forest. She was perfect and would never even come close to failing.
Rapidpaw trotted towards the Winding Forest, nervous though everyone had told her she had nothing to fear. It was only natural for you to be worried about the thing that would decide your future, right? Well even if that wasn't true Rapidpaw was scared. As Doveflight appeared behind her Rapidpaw dipped her head in respect. "Good luck, young one," Doveflight whispered to her as Rapidpaw got ready to go.
As soon as it was time Rapidpaw took off, racing faster than she ever thought she could, even since her little 'practice' runs in kithood. She never looked back, she just let the wind and her mind race on through the forest. Dodging every which way as trees shot out of almost nowehere trying to hit her off course, it wouldn't be done, she was fast enough to hear the wind whisper in her ears. The voices of StarClan cats pushing her onward, to her destiny, to the fate that was waiting for her when she finally reached the rock. Almost as quickly as the trial had began, Rapidpaw was leaping up the rock. A natural reaction to being faced with it no doubt.
Closing her eyes Rapidpaw took a deep breath, her ears perked almost immediately and her mentor and leader watched from the other side of the rock as she leaped off of it. Dropping into a hunter's crouch as she did so Rapidpaw's fluid movements, the grace that was with her no matter the speed rolled over her. A plump vole sat chewing on one of the acorns that littered this small clearing, leaping into the air like a StarClan cat taking flight Rapidpaw's close unsheathed and she swiftly ended the prey's life. When she turned around with the prey in her mouth she looked confused at the leader's expression. His jaw had fallen open in amazement, Doveflight trotted swiftly through the last tree with the same look on her face. Then Rapidpaw realized what they were amazed about, she had not only beaten Doveflight by a longshot, but she had also been able to catch a piece of prey before she arrived. That was completely unheard of.
No one in all the records and legends of TimberClan had ever managed to catcha piece of pray before the Overseer ran out after them. Rapidpaw gained the respect of a Senior Warrior before she even became a warrior with that move. She also became the first TimberClan cat in many, many seasons to not be named by the Overseer but by the leader instead. She was to be known as Rapidstep, the cat whose path was lit by StarClan. Her story traveled like wildfire through TimberClan, and by the next Gathering every cat knew the story and who she was.
Immediately after being made a warrior, Rapidstep took on as many tasks as she possibly could, leading almost any patrol that was asked of her. She has been kept busy by this and there is already talk of her being given an apprentice and even being made Overseer, only time will tell what new legends this cat will create. There is just the silent promise among all of the Clans that another grand story with her as the hero was sure to unfold at any time now.
