Name:
Dewpaw
Age:
6 moons
Gender:
Tom
Clan:
PeakClan.
Rank:
Apprentice
Appearance:
Dewpaw has the opposite appearance of his sister's gentle pelt color. His pelt is tabby, ad made with a base of white, topped with a blue-ish color that is not unlike water, which goes from his forehead to the base of his tail is a saddle-like pattern, common to a german shephards brown, though Dewpaw has it on his head as well. The blue also goes up his tail, which is tipped with white, and stays on the upperside intead of encircling the tail. He then has many darker blue and black tabby stripes twisting around and through the blue, with the classic "M" on his forehead, as well as all other tabby markings. His fur is light enough in coloring, and close enough to gray, that he has no trouble with camouflage in PeakClan's territory.
Dewpaw's eyes only help support his name. They are a very light gray-blue that can almost be passed off for a pool of clear water. They have the natural, slightly darker rim and slightly darker flecks.
Like his father, Dewpaw is a 'cross between muscular and lithe' (as Crag calls it XD). He is not very tall, but has shoulders broad enough to hold his rock-hard muscles, as well as hard paws that are useful in his territory. Dewpaw has no trouble keeping up with the fastest apprentices, and once he's a warrior he'll most likely have no trouble keeping up with the other warriors. His paws are tipped with hooked claws that will be put to good use someday, hopefully.
Personality:
For a summary, Dewpaw is a quiet, mellow, laid back tom. He is loyal and obediant, and has the qualities of a good warrior. In time he may show the confidence his sister has, and could one day show the Clan that he has some truly helpful leadership qualities. He enjoys all the normal things in life, but thinks that he has to prove himself a good apprentice in order to become a good warrior. He is the kind of cat that will take orders without question, unless he has a reason not to. Dewpaw believes that one can only earn the respect of others if he himself shows them respect first, though he is not afraid to back up his opinions with tooth and claw.
Underneath the mature and loyal exterior, Dewpaw has all the normal qualities of a good apprentice. He enjoys training and performing the duties that the warriors don't have time for. He tries hard to make sure that he does the best he possibly can, and always has room in his day for an argument and/or a skirmish. He loves hunting more than fighting, but all the same is anticipating his first battle. Dewpaw will amaze everyone someday, showing all the true warrior qualities after moons of showing only obediant kit and apprentice qualities. Dewpaw will someday become one of the most respected and revered warriors in PeakClan, and he will anxiously await his warrior trial.
As the exact opposite of his sister, he sometimes feels embarressed for Rosepaw's lack of respect for their elders, and scolds her when she gets in trouble. Just as she thinks that he is too old for his own good, he believes that she is too young for her own good. He thinks that if she doesn't grow up a bit and stop acting like an over-excited apprentice, she could get into some heavy trouble. Depaw attempts to keep his sister toeing the line until she can figure out for herself how to behave and show some respect for the authority of her elders.
Past:
"Rosekit, don't get confused with who the boss is."
If there was a list of Most Common Quotes in The Nursery, this would be number one. Rosekit was always getting into trouble. Whatever problem was going on in the camp; whether it be a messed up herb pile or an irritated elder, it was probably her. She got under the skin of just about every cat in camp as soon as she was able to walk and communicate. Flowingriver, her mother, tried desperately to control her unruly kit, but was exhausted by her never ending energy. Rosekit was always running, jumping, climbing, or leaping at someone. Dewkit, on the other hand, was a momma's boy. He was always trying to please her and got a lot of crap from his sister about it. The two siblings fought constantly; one was always bugging the other about what they were doing wrong in their life. Dewkit needed to have more fun, and Rosekit needed to have less. Or, at least, that's what they thought.
About halfway through her kithood, Rosekit was told a story about a sister that was born before her. Her name; Flowerkit. Apparently she would have been her older sibling, a warrior by now. Had, of course, she still been alive. Rosekit learned that day that she was named in honor of Flowerkit. Instead of feeling inspired to live up to her name, as Flowingriver had expected, Rosekit was actually offended! She felt as though her parents had only wanted her because their first kit had died. They named her in honor of someone else, not herself. From that day forth, Rosekit was angry about her history, and didn't want to have anything to do with Flowerkit, or honoring her name.
At the age of six moons, the siblings were ready to be apprenticed. The leader and Hiddensoul and thought very hard about these two, they would need mentors that fit their opposite personalities perfectly. Dewkit, first off, needed someone to loosen him up a bit. Rosekit needed someone to calm her down. Finally, the mentors were announced during the ceremony. Dewpaw was to be mentored by Suntalon, and Rosepaw by Quickfire. Suntalon had good humor and was never too serious during training, which would be perfect for the young tom. Quickfire was a bit more serious, and would crack down on Rosepaw. Training has just started and the new apprentices are off to a great start
