Quickfire's growls became even louder at every insult that found its way out of the new warrior, twice his size. She obviously knew nothing about who he was, her voice rang in his ears. For once he wasn't the first to leap blindly at the warrior that called him small and an unfit hunter. Rosepaw went first, as much as he should have made it a point to not allow her to fight at every little insult. He soon followed, leaping to the aid of the two apprentices.
"Dewpaw I can help your sister, go attack the other apprentice." With that Quickfire raced speedily to Pureheart's back, leaping up he landed a step from her and attempted to slide under her. If he made it that far he'd latch onto her and attempt to flip her so he could be on top. His back claws thrashing furiously at her stomach, if not he would simply bounce back lunging a paw out to strike at her. Hopefully Rosepaw would be intelligent enough to use this battle experience later when she actually got trained in the arts of tooth and claw.
Snowpaw let out a sigh and looked to her paws briefly. It appeared as though she had no choice and she didn't do a thing for a moment as the fighting first broke out. Then Patchfur rushed over and screamed at her to help Pureheart, the cat she didn't much care to help. Well this was for her Clan right? That was good enough for her, and maybe she could impress Patchfur even more. So she pinpointed Dewpaw out with her icy gaze and she began to trot forward.
It was then that she leaped, her powerful back legs propelling her towards Dewpaw's side. Her claws unsheathed she would attempt to barrel into him, get him away and off of Pureheart. It shouldn't be too difficult, he seemed to be new and she was passing her battle training with flying colors. She had even managed to pin her mentor down, a feat not many had accomplished. Pureheart fluffed out her pelt, angrily slashing at the she-cat apprentice before her. "Get out of here, kit, its obvious you're not old enough for battle yet!" The warrior flipped herself under Rosepaw, slashing at her belly and flanks. Soon, she had rolled herself on top of the opponent, pinning her down. The apprentice hissed and growled, struggling with all her might, but Pureheart's superior weight kept her down. Suddenly, the TimberClanner was knocked in the side, causing her to topple off Rosepaw and fall into the grass with another cat on top of her. It was a tabby, obviously an apprentice, that was slashing at her back with unsheathed claws. Pureheart barreled upwards with a mighty yowl, trying to flip Dewpaw off of her. If he landed on his back, she would rush over and pin him. If the tom managed to land on his paws, Pureheart would attempt another attack, this time aiming to knock him off his paws and cut up his flank. Blue eyes gleamed with fire.
Before anything could happen, the she-cat saw a flash of ginger. It leaped over her and landed next to her, the momentary distraction causing her slight confusion. Suddenly, the cat was underneath her, slashing at her belly and flipping her over. With a grunt of surprise, Pureheart saw the small PeakClan warrior above her. She didn't waist any time wallowing, but squirmed and wriggled with all her might, trying to slash the tom's belly with her back paws while pushing up to get him off of her. If Quickfire was successfully pushed away, Pureheart would attempt a counter attack.
--
Patchfur was surprised by the strength of the PeakClan she-cat, but didn't let it affect him. The yowl she had heard was merely a decoy, and the tom sprung up with powerful back legs, this hopefully being enough to send Swiftsky flying. The rain poured down hard, washing the blood from his back onto the ground. Lightning flashed, followed by a boom of thunder that seemed to shake the ground. Patchfur flexed his claws into the dirt, "I think the real question is, have you had enough?" The tom narrowed his eyes. If he had successfully freed himself from the warrior's grip, he would leap to his paws and attack, attempting to pin Swiftsky down before she had a chance to stand up. If still pinned, Patchfur would unsheathe his claws and rake the she-cat's belly until she let him go herself. All of this would be done with hissing and yowling at the top of his lungs.
--
Rosepaw hissed in pain beneath Pureheart as claws met flesh. Being a six moon old apprentice with little battle training, her and Dewpaw were not very experienced fighters, and would mainly go off of instinct. Suddenly there was a flash of gray, and Rosepaw saw her brother attack the TimberClan warrior, barreling her away and slashing at her back. The PeakClan apprentice got her paws, hissing. Why did he assume that she needed help? Rosepaw flexed her claws, getting ready to attack again, before a flash of ginger flew through the air. She immediately recognized it as Quickfire, her mentor.
"Dewpaw I can help your sister, go attack the other apprentice."
Rosepaw spat, "I don't need your help!" It was yowled over the rain as it thundered down, tingling her wounds. She watched as Quickfire pinned Pureheart, and looked around for someone else to attack. There was another apprentice; a tom, who had just arrived. He had drenched, dark brown fur and stunning blue eyes that looked shocked from all the commotion. There was a mouse dangling from his jaws. Rosepaw bounded toward him and barreled into his side, getting a surprised grunt in return. The tom, Creekpaw, growled and spat, clawing at his opponent with fire in his eyes. Rosepaw yowled in pain as the TimberClanner met her side, creating yet another wound. He bit her leg, and she knocked him in the side of the head. The two were a rolling mass of hissing and spitting over the boom of thunder.
--
Suntalon hissed. Had Rosepaw stayed out of things, they could have saved many wounds from this battle. The soaking wet tom leaped at a TimberClan warrior who looked like a worthy opponent, inserting himself into the battle only because he knew he could not stop it. Using the slick, muddy ground to his advantage, Suntalon slid beneath the other warrior and flung him to the side, leaping on top of him before he had a chance to get to his paws. After biting and clawing at him for a few moments, the TimberClanner squirmed out and ran away into his territory. Suntalon looked up, trying to find someone else to send back to the Nursery.

Dewpaw turned quickly as the white apprentice Snowpaw crashed into him. He landed hard on his side, spinning around to get his paws in front of him to push the TimberClanner away before she could get to his belly. He felt a surge of anger and adrenaline rushed through his veins as he pushed Snowpaw into the mud and rolled around to pin her down. His wider shoulders made it easy for him to pin her down, but she was stronger and elder, so he took the chance he had to dig his claws into her shoulders and bit down on the scruff of her neck, holding on. She would at least have a hard time getting him off, even if she eventually did. He battered her back with his hind paws and waited tensely for her next move. He could hear his sister's yowl and saw a flash of her ginger fur as she rushed past to attack a newcomer; a brown apprentice with blue eyes. Dewpaw knew that he and his sister were too new at this to beat them on their own, but they could certainly try!
Swiftsky felt the change in the position that this dumb tom had placed his muscles in. How could he possibly hope to defeat her? She could hear the muscles in his hind legs tensing and she prepared herself for his kick, and then shot off his back a moment before he could send her flying. She grabbed the scruff of his neck and wrapped her paws around his back, hoping to bring him down and pin him. She heard his snide remark and smirked cruelly. "Oh, I think you'll find that I can keep this up all day, foxdung." She could hear the yowls and triumphs of her Clanmates around her and listened carefully, though not taking her attention of the tom in front of her, as Suntalon drove one TimberClanner off, Rosepaw attacked another, Quickfire locked in combat with the idiot newbie warrioress, and Dewpaw tested his strength against the quiet TimberClanner. She wished that the two new apprentices could have been given a bit more training before their first battle, but it couldn't be helped now, and she would just have to fight twice as hard to take care of the other intruders.
Another TimberClanner leapt off of a young PeakClan warrior and watched him flee. The young tom had the muddy pelt of his father but bright green eyes instead of the leader's blue ones. He had the wider paws and strength of the famed Redstar as well, and he looked around to see whom else he could try his luck with. He wasn't as young as Patchfur or Pureheart, but he wouldn't brag and say that he had the experience of Suntalon or Swiftsky. Being of about 25 moons, Aspenleaf, son of Redstar and Soaringfeather, was ready to prove that he was just as powerful and brave as his legendary father. And he was about to get his chance, as he caught sight of a ginger senior warrior who had just chased off another TimberClanner. He didn't expect to be able to defeat Suntalon, but he would try, and he rushed at him, leaping onto his back, knowing that his lighter weight would not be able to flip himover. He attempted to bring him down from the top, having the element of surprise on his side.

Quickfire let himself be pushed away, he knew that her next move would be to try and injure his underbelly so he got away as soon as he could. He landed on his feet because he was moving with her counterattack, next she would certainly attack again. So now was the time to continue on his rampage, speed was his friend and he wouldn't wait for her to make the next move.
"Rosepaw always keep your enemy on the counterattack, speed can be our friend as much as it is there's. When you are her size you can take my advice as you please but you are perfectly capable of doing as you please." He spoke over her hiss for her not needing his help, whatever she had to saw wasn't that important and he figured it would just be some whine. As he spoke he was racing in dodging to one side as he slashed at her chest than rolled away. This was pretty much his own improvisation of his coined move. He wasn't one to stay by the exact move though anyway.
As the apprentice landed on his side her long legs propelled her forward to push him back down into the growing mud, raking her claws along her side if time would allow. It probably wouldn't be too hard for her to accomplish, after all she was a TimberClanner and a fast one at that. The apprentice got a sudden surge of anger or adrenaline after that as he pushed her, she wasn't well prepared for it so part of her side got covered in mud as she slide up onto her feet, using the mud to her advantage. He landed a ways away from her as though he had been planning to pin her down. Scrabbling the rest of the way to her paws she attempted to get a hit in but didn't make it in time before he realized that she wasn't under him. She surprisingly lot her balance on the mud and was sent sideways just in time for him to try and pin her down a second time. As his claws dug into her shoulders and he went at her sides with his back claws she used the lubrication and slickness of the mud on her fur to try and attempt to slide away from him. Then she'd try to clobber him in the side, close to his legs with a sheathed paw to imbalance him and turn the tides by pinning him and starting her own barrage of hits.
[Ugh sucky post >< where does my muse go for this thread?]

Pureheart's blue eyes blazed in anger. The fool! The small PeakClan warrior was speaking to his apprentice now, most likely thinking about what a great fighter he was. Eyes narrowed, the warrioress waited for him to make the next move, which he obviously would. Digging her claws into the mud, Pureheart watched as the orange tom came for her, and ran at him as he did so. He slashed across her chest and rolled away, landing swiftly on his paws. The she-cat hissed in pain, but ignored it as she launched herself at him. Pureheart wasn't going to lose this battle if she could help it. Already drenched and covered in mud, she just wanted to get back to camp and wash off. Her next move would be to leap completely over Quickfire, turning in the air and landing on the other side. Then, the warrioress would slash from behind. The problem with this, though, is that Pureheart should be thinking about how to overpower the tom head to head. She was larger than him, and if she was able to pin the PeakClanner the battle could easily be won. Quickfire was much to fast for this battle move.
Sure enough, the move went in no way the way Pureheart planned it. She turned in the air and landed, but the slick mud caused her to slip and fall. Feeling her pelt grow hot, the she-cat scrambled clumsily to her paws and foolishly tried the battle move once more, but surely Quickfire would already have turned.

"Rosepaw always keep your enemy on the counterattack, speed can be our friend as much as it is there's. When you are her size you can take my advice as you please but you are perfectly capable of doing as you please."
Rosepaw had to use every ounce of her willpower not to yowl at her mentor. He was arrogant enough to give her a lesson while fighting? The apprentice had other things to worry about, now, still locked in combat with the TimberClan tom. They were separated now, circling each other with their fur fluffed up nearly twice its size. The enemy, Creekpaw, started to speak, "How old are you, kit? Your battle moves are clumsy and obviously not taught very well." He scoffed, "So either you have a terrible mentor, or you are the biggest mousebrain I've ever met." Creekpaw launched himself at Rosepaw, using his superior weight to knock her over, then leaped back out of reach. The new apprentice hissed and leaped to her paws before attacking him again. She was large for her age, but not as large as her enemy. Thinking fast, Rosepaw allowed the TimberClanner to pin her again, only to push up into his gut with all her might, sending him flying. The new apprentice stared in awe. Had she really just done that?
--
Patchfur was knocked over by Swiftsky, but twisted and turned on the spot so the warrioress was hopefully not able to pin him. If he was able to wriggle out of her grip he would get to his paws and turn, lashing out at her face or chest. Patchfur ignored her taunting and concentrated on the battle itself, something he didn't usually do.
-- Suntalon may have been surprised, but his mentor had taught him at a young age to always be ready for attacks such as these. As soon as he felt claws on his back, the senior warrior flipped onto his back, attempting to either keep Aspenleaf on the ground for a moment to give him time to get to his paws, or to flip onto his belly and pin him from the front. It all depended on how the TimberClanner reacted and how much time the tom had.

Swiftsky simply tightened her grip on Patchfur's shoulders. She was bigger than him, and that put her at the disadvantage of trying to hold on while he twisted and turned. He was quicker, but she was elder and much more experienced. She pulled on his scruff, using her greater weight to her advantage to try and flip him over. If she succeeded, she would pin him down and rip her claws through his soft belly fur until he screamed for mercy. If not, she would back away and begin a wary circle of him. Swiftsky felt the excitement of the fight rushing through her veins, and her anger at them for intruding and taunting her clanmates lent her power.
Aspenleaf was smaller than Suntalon, and that might have put him at a disadvantage. He hadn't expected the ginger tom to flip over, and was unprepared as his larger opponent came down almost on top of him. He leapt out of the way and sprang around to face Suntalon again. The warrior hadn't gotten out of his position on his back, so Aspenleaf leapt at him, trying to get his face while the PeakClanner was attempting to regain his footing.
Dewpaw bit down hard on the back of Snowpaw's neck. He wasn't experienced enough to be able to tell what she was planning, unlike Swiftsky. He simply held on as she attempted to slide away from him, then, once he felt that he was about to slide, he leapt off, sliding through the mud to be facing her flank a ways away. He yowled and flung himself at her flank, attempting to knock her over. If he managed it, he would aim for her neck and leave her a few belly scars to remember him by.
A lithe, white TimberClanner watched as another PeakClanner tore away from between his claws, back into their territory. His face had a black mark on it like a siamese with tan patches overlapping the black, making it look as though the tan were holding the black onto the white. His back had the same brown-black pattern, though this black spot shaped like the "saddle" patterned that made a german shephard so unique. His pale blue eyes would feel as though he were staring right through you if he was looking at you with them, and his long claws shreaded the forest floor as he looked through the battle for another opponent. He noticed his former apprentice, Aspenleaf, locked in combat with Suntalon, and many of his other clanmates. On the otherside of the border, out stepped a large, black and brown PeakClanner with unusually long claws. He seemed surprised to see the fighting cats, so he must have been hunting and happened upon the battle by accident. Whitefur waited for the cat to notice him; he wouldn't have to run the whole way across the clearing.
Longclaw had spent the majority of the time that the two Clans had been battling with Hazelwing and his kits. Finally, Hiddensoul had caught him and ordered him to start the hunting, like he'd promised. Longclaw, still grumpiy, had made his way into the forest and began the hunt. He had two birds and three mice hidden closer to camp, but now he needed to help his clanmates with this battle. Noticing the white, brown, and black tom staring at him, he leapt through the crowd to stand before him. "So, TimberClan intruding againg, huh?" he asked the elderly, well-known warrior by the name of Whitefur. "Haven't you had enough yet? I'd have been sure that since your littermates died, you wouldn't have wanted anymore fights between our two clans."
Whitefur snarled and lashed a forepaw out at Longclaw's face, cutting a scar across his muzzle. "I will fight to the death for my clanmates!" he growled. "The past would never change how I feel."
"Then let's finish this." spat Longclaw, leaping at his opponent. Whitefur danced out of the way and pushed the PeakClanners larger body past him. Longclaw spun around and attacked again, but Whitefur rolled over and caught the black and brown body with his paws and flung him into the nearby tree. Longclaw got up shakily, and, after shaking himself off, sprang at Whitefur from the front, claws unsheathed, and caught him in the chest, rolling over with him, slashing at his chest and stomach while biting at his face. Whitefur clawed at Longclaw's stomach from between his forelegs down. Both cats yowled with pain, but Longclaw had finally pinned Whitefur down. Putting his face close to Whitefur's, he snarled deeply. "If what you say is true, than you'll see no problem in calling your warriors back. If our border was so unimportant to you, maybe this will change your clan's minds."
Whitefur looked into Longclaw's eyes and the PeakClanner shuddered. "Your Clan should never have attacked us in the first place. Pureheart crossed the border on accident, chasing prey of ours! That ginger apprentice had no right to attack her." Whitefur pushed up with his strong hind legs and sent Longclaw flying over his head and crashing into another tree. He then sprang to his paws and leapt at the fallen warrior, but seeing him unconsious abandoned the attack and turned back toward the TimberClan camp. "I need to get Redstar."
[[The first half was sucky. I'm having a hard time thinking of new battle moves to use so they don't use the same trick twice. Mind if I bring Redstar in to end the battle?]]

Quickfire growledrowled in satisfaction as his claws landed on Pureheart's chest. That would leave one nasty scar. He could tell that she just wanted to leave. In fact she looked tired all ready, Quickfir on the other hand was still pumping with adrenaline. He was already in her head, he had more purpose in talking about the battle than just teaching Rosepaw. It would also get under the TimberClanner's fur after all she was in the fastest Clan of the mountain. So she would naturally try to outrun him, even though strength would have been the proper route to take.
So when she leaped into the air he was already ready, leaping up at the same time he sliced his claws down her fur if his timing was correct. He would land neatly on the ground afterwords and star an onslought of slashings until he rolled away. Dodging if need be to any flailing claws from a losing Pureheart. He hoped that he could leave the loud-mouthed TimberClanner a few scars to remember him by. That was all he asked for in a battle. he didn't want to be just someone in a battle that the other cat may or may not remember.
Snowpaw growled in anger as Dewpaw bit into her neck as she slide away. As he leaped away at the last moment she had to think quickly. He would obviously choose her back, so she decided to rise herself up and roll to one side. As his yowl came she leaped into the air, if she wasn't sure exactly where he was it was always a good bet that he would be heading towards her. So a vertical jump onto his back was a good enough idea for her. If she was allowed she would try to cling to his back and bite on his neck in turn.
Snowpaw could not put into words how stupid this border skirmish was. It had started because of Pureheart's insults when she was in the wrong and that PeekClan apprentice that had leaped at her. If she was punished for a fight she hadn't started she would be extremely angry. This battle also had the slight hope of her being recognized as ready to be a warrior. She was old enough to become one, all it took was the trial and the leader's ok. Just the the thought would make her scratch harder on the tom that she was fighting if she had landed on him properly.
[my god x.x I swear, battle posts for me are good for moves but terrible for length.. definitely need to improve. Bring on Redstar to get me out of this horror D:] [/sup][/blockquote]

Dewpaw let out a yowl of frustration as Snowpaw evaded him by leaping straight into the air. Instead of stopping to let her land on his shoulders, he picked up the pace a little and shot forward, spinning around her face her, panting, a few foxlengths away.
---
Whitefur lurched into TimberClan camp and rushed straight to the Highrock, underneath which Redstar was speaking with Nettleclaw and another senior warrior. "Redstar!" Whitefur panted, skidding to a stop in front of his leader. He shook the mud off his fur so the brown and black were visible and the rain washed the mud that he couldn't dislodge off. He had only a few scratches on his flanks; he had used a technique that required a series of dodging before making the first blow. It was rather efficient.
The muddy, brown-red pelt of the leader of TimberClan rippled as his strong muscles pushed himself to his paws. His deep, midnight-blue eyes regarded the senior warrior carefully before asking, "Yes, Whitefur? What's happened?" but Redstar could make a pretty good guess; one of the younger warriors must have crossed the PeakClan border chasing a squirrel or rabbit, or else the opposite and a PeakClanner chased prey across the border. Either way, it was probably a fight between PeakClan and themselves.
And Redstar was right. "Pureheart chased a hare across the border with PeakClan, and one of their border patrols caught her. If that wasn't enough, she had to start insulting their warriors, so a young apprentice attacked and the battle followed. When I left we were doing well, but so was PeakClan, and I thought maybe you would prefer stopping this battle." Whitefur explained how it was not PeakClan's fault that a battle occured. Pureheart was mostly to blame.
Redstar nodded before turning to Nettleclaw. "Gather together a couple warriors, see if Rapidstep is around and maybe Oakstep. We won't need them for fighting, I hope." Nettleclaw nodded before leaving to see who was available in from the Warrior's den. Redstar turned back to Whitefur. "Are you up to coming with us, Whitefur? If you're too tired you may stay here." As he said this, Nettleclaw and two other TimberClanners appeared from their den and stood waiting beside the entrance.
Whitefur smiled and chuckled deeply. "Of course I'll come with you, I would only be kept away by an order." Redstar nodded and then turned to meet up with the rest of their patrol, the senior warrior following close behind. Without speaking, Redstar stepped back to let Whitefur show them the way through the forest and to the battle site. Whitefur took the lead and set a quick pace, hoping to get there before much blood was spilled. Soon, due mostly to the fact that TimberClan was the fastest Clan on this mountain, they arrived just above the clearing where the two Clans were fighting. Redstar took in the scene; Snowpaw and Creekpaw were both fighting apprentices who were much smaller than them, Patchfur was locked in combat by a large brown and white she-cat, Pureheart battling a small orange tom who was known as Quickfire, and his son, Aspenleaf, was fighting the senior warrior Suntalon.
Before things could get any worse, Redstar was suddenly in the middle of the group of fighting cats, his patrol following more slowly to stand beside him. "Stop!" Redstar let out an echoing cauterwhal.
